Ultimate Street Car – What a weekend :)

Ultimate Street Car

What a weekend…. Loads of modified cars, loads of suped up drag/strip cars, hot rods, and racing.

It was the second time i’d been to USC, and what a wicked show it was.

Friday night was the mash up, I had no sleep whatsoever – Me, Wardo, Mason, Becki & Laura managed to stay up all night. I know how us lads managed to stay up all night but no idea how the girls did as they were being sensible. Thanks to you all for a top weekend ;)   – It was nice to spend time with people I don’t get to see very often, i do miss you all.

I would like to turn the clock back and make a few changes, and maybe something could have been a bit different. Suppose its down to age and experience

Saturday about 8am, I dragged myself to the main show area to put my car on the STX Styling stand, don’t know how I managed it as I was still mangled from the night before, I had never looked so rough in my life. With the help of Miss Starlet I parked the car on the stand, had a brief chat with Clive the STX man and crawled back to the campsite to attempt to get myself back to normal. Thanks for the guidance there, I think I’d have found somewhere to sit down and not got back up without you.

The sun was out all day, it was red hot and I kept tellin myself I’m ok, I dont feel rough and the feeling will go away. 6 hours, loads of water and a few more beers later, I felt no better, and found myself with a very painful headache. Surely I should have stopped drinkin but its the weekend, these shows dont come about very often so i’ll enjoy it and recover next week. The day soon turned to evening and then came another evening of madness. Everyone was a bit quiter and I only had a few beers before heading to bed about midnight (still feeling dog rough)

Sunday morning came and yet again (like at most shows) I was awoken by the bass from Scotts Car, something that has happened at most shows. Not that I mind cos without it I would have been late for the show and shine. I felt a lot better that Saturday, still a bit shady, but good enough.

Spent most of the day watching the racing and things such as the Jet engined car do 200mph up the strip and hundreds of people raggin their cars up the strip. One day I WILL have a faster engine and I WILL beat Scoobies up the track. That day is approaching by the way, I’ll tell you more later on :)

The car has had loads of attention, STX like it, TSW love it and the mags are wanting to feature it as soon as the interior and ICE is sorted. Maybe even able to get a front cover..

Sunday seemed to drag, I couldnt get my car off the stand until late on so I chilled out for a bit, had a massive waterfight, ate more food and waited for the cues to clear up.

Left about 5-6pm, headed down the M1 all the way back to Mansfield and got pulled over just near junction 27 for having NO number plates (ooops)

Quality weekend, roll on Trax.

Thanks to all who made it a wicked weekend. See you soon :)

A busy weekahead

Ok, so, its Tuesday (the day after yesterday), or is it ? NOPE, its the 12th August and i’m catching up and backdating a few things.. so from now to the 12 which you probably read first, was typed the same time as this..

The build up to a show is always tense, more tense when your cars still in the bodyshop and the show starts in a few days time, not to mention that you are 100 miles away from where your car is and still have alot to do.

Anyway, fuck Tuesday cos I cant remember what happened, WEDNESDAY….. headed down to Mansfield, loaded with a weeks worth of clothes. Some for USC and the rest for the week as I am working for my friends company for a little while and will be back in Mansfield for a while.

Got into town, dropped off at the bodyshop and started puttin the interior back together and having a general tidy up. The car is looking absolutely mint..

Spent all day there, then went to the Early Doors in the evening to see everyone. Nice to be back and see everybody. Spent the night at Olly’s. Think thats gonna be my home for a short while.

Wednesday went, Thursday came, another day another full day at the bodyshop, which soon turned into Friday (woop woop) – Me & Olly went to Craft Signs, popped to Mini Marquees, called in at my Mums, went shopping and then Olly dropped me off to collect my car.

I had to wait about an hour before I could drive away as the front grill was still drying and there were a few little bits to get done. BUT, it was finished and it looks wicked, i’m well happy with it. Body & Tuning have done me proud. Time to get these guys some work and help them grow the company. We got alot to do.. a hell of alot. Dijitul will be the foundation to a bright and successful future :)

Drove to Olly’s, loaded the car up and headed towards the M1. Santa Pod here we come (at last, another cracking weekend ahead)

We arrived there about 6-7pm (i think) to find everyone had already started the festivities, BBQ’s were blazin, Beer was flowing and it was still warm. More about the weekend to follow in the next post.

A day off

Got up nice and early this morning and went to Ely with my Dad. Ely is a small historic town with the biggest Cathedral I’ve ever seen. We had a look round it and was amazed by the structure and design of it. It gets me everytime, how all them years ago they built such amazing buildings. Goes back to the 1700s. We also had a wander down to the Marina, where it was very busy, lots of people on their boats and loads more at the riverside. We had a couple of ice creams and went on the hunt for a nice pub to have a roast dinner.

About twenty minutes from our house, we found a nice little pub and had a lamb dinner which was the nicest pub dinner I’ve ever had. A full stomach later, we headed home and I got into bed as my chest was playing up again, my asthma’s been pretty strange lately, getting out of breath for no reason, waking up in the middle of the night and the inhalers not actually working. I’m at the doctors first thing Monday and I’m hoping they’ll give me some new inhalers. Can’t really figure out whats caused it, could be the heat, could be the fact that I went to the Stables over the weekend, even though I went nowhere near a horse, that could have started me off?

Thats my Sunday really, woke up at about 1930 watched a bit of TV, then chilled out, did  a bit of internet browsing and went to bed.

Oh yeah, I’ve reintroduced myself to Drum & Bass & some serious R&B :)

Friday – Saturday

Early start, got the van, loaded up my seats, got my toe down and got into Mansfield about 1330. Got to see the car and its lookin absolutely fantastic, the paint is wicked and the bodywork is bob on, can’t wait to be driving it again. Just awaitin these rims, I can see it being a last minute delivery..

Took my Mum some fresh strawberries from my local fruit stand (there so nice around here), stayed and had a chat with her an my stepdad for a bit. Fetched some baseplates for my car mirrors, called into see the guys at Autocruise. Matt was showing me pics of his new beetle, and its lookin very sweet indeed. A lowdown look that makes Hondas look stupid. How low can one go huh?

After runnin about trying to find a cash machine that worked and runnin car bits from one place to the other I finally got a John Smiths down my neck which was the most refreshin thing all day..

Called in at Ste’s and stayed there for the night, caught up on some old tunes and chilled in the sun for a bit then watched lots of TV, BIG BROTHER sucks, but I watched it anyway.

Following morning, got up at 7.45am, got washed and changed and headed upto the Stables where I was meeting Shaun to give him a hand. Most of the morning was spent driving about, picking stuff up, droppin stuff off, pretty hectic but I love driving.

Finished at the stables at about 12/12.30 and headed straight to my grandma and grandads to pick up a welder and some meat. Had a quick fag and a drink and left promptly as time was getting on and the van needed to be back.

I’m not gonna describe the journey home, BUT, it did not take me long at all, and I managed to get the van back 10 minutes before time. I would like to say a big thankyou to Vauxhall for building the Combo 1.7 Turbo Diesel. The best van I’ve ever driven. 110 miles to a tenner. Nice one Vauxhall :)

I do enjoy driving cos it gives me time to think, and I’ve had alot more ideas in regards to the things that are going off at the moment, and there all for the best, just need to put them into practise and speak to Olly about them. If there’s one thing I love its the development of ideas already being actioned. Business & Club wise, the rest of this year is gonna be cool. Next year is gonna be even better. As long as I keep a straight head, stay focused on everything and dont let anyone stand in my way, it’ll al be sound.

Hopefully, Olly will have more time on his hands soon cos I am getting to the point where I really REALLY need his input on things, and need to have more contact during the day. Its either been he’s had loads of free time and I haven’t or the other way round. Gettin us both on the same thing, or in the same place at the same time is like trying to get Bin Laden & Bush in the same room but without the turbans and tash’s..

I don’t feel as bad as the last few days but there is still unsolved, unaddressed issues that I’m gonna get on top of sometime soon. One thing at a time though. My living, well being and future career prospects are my main concern. Without them, I’m homeless, hungry and no good to no one.

For all those people who have said they were gonna call me in the past few days, stop lyin to me and yourselves. If you said you were gonna call me or get back to me about something then follow through with it and stop letting me down.
ALOT of people have let me down this week, the main ones being CAR MAGAZINES…

I’ll leave it there for now

As for the rest of the day and weekend, I’ll report back Monday.

SMILE & be HAPPY with the cards you’ve been dealt and never stop chasing that winning flush, cos it WILL come.

Not much has changed

Still feel the same.. Still know that what I’m doing is gonna work but in the meantime, behind the scenes is shit.

Going to Mansfield tomorrow, hiring a van to take my seats to the bodyshop, see a few people, collect some money and hopefully get a days work on Saturday.

Can’t make LSOM, which i’m very pissed off about.

Not much more to say, wank day, feel under pressure and on a downer.

Maybe its just this week, or me ? Who knows

Roll on Ultimate Street Car.

Need to eliminate all aspects of stress cause.

Bad start… Thursday 27th July

Had a shit nights sleep, did not get to sleep til at least 4.30am, just couldn’t rest. Kept having flashbacks of various things and thoughts flying through my head at 100mph. For some reason, listening to some music through the earphones did not work this time, its usually the best way to get me to sleep. Obviously stress is kicking in.

After this I’m gonna try and stay off the PC before I smash the thing to bits and wait for an email of phone to ring.

T Mobile have barred outgoing calls YET again cos i’ve gone over my credit limit, even though I have almost 800 minutes UNUSED. I cant pay them the 40pound they want either cos due to the wank mess I was in, I can only have a cashcard, how nice of them.

Bad start to the day really cos i’ve got loads of calls to make. Two magazines to call, a mate I need to talk to (actually I aint gonna bother cos he just ignores it constantly to everyone and talks to you when HE wants to).

Todays words: Pissed off, frustrated and feeling let down.

Work can suck my fuckin balls today cos its gettin nothing from me, walking through the countryside is all i’m doing today.. Maybe it will make me feel better.
