Buying a Motorcycle Helmet

November 1st, 2008 by dave

The time has come where I need a new lid, not only for when I go out on the motorbike but for when I start racing next year in the Toyota Sprint Series.

I have been looking at various motorcycle helmets on the internet, shopping around for the best possible price. There are too many to choose from, its been a few years since I’ve had one and there are so many on the market now.

After days of browsing I stumbled across two brands, one of which I know well, the other not so well.

I now have a choice, firstly are:

Caberg Helmets

The Caberg Trip looks the part and from what I have read is a really good brand, not to mention the prices are alot cheaper than the more establised brands.

I found the Caberg Trip Tova on a local companies website priced at only £109.99, not bad at all If i must say so.

Secondly, there are also a couple of nice Shark Helmets on the same website, the price is obviously higher but the Shark brand is generally expensive. Carl Fogarty probably did wonders for the brand back in the day as I remember the advertising campaigns very well.

Anyway, I have a few favourites from the Shark range, all of which look wicked, infact, I take back what I said above, the brand did used to be expensive but according to MickByrne.co.uk they start at only £114.99 !!!

My favourite is the Shark S800 helmet. I will say nore more, look for yourself.

For only £159.99 I think I have found my perfect lid. Think I shall get myself down to the showroom and try it on :)

Just need the R6 now, roll on 2009 :)
